Book group remembers Dorothy Porter

Like so many people everywhere, we were deeply saddened by the death of Dorothy Porter.

Libby spoke to Katrina Fox from SX about Dorothy's passing. The following is an excerpt from the tribute on Dorothy Porter in SX (Issue 412, p12).

"...the Feminist Bookshop's book group held their end-of-year party, with attendees lighting a candle for Porter. "It was extremely moving," co-owner Libby Silva tells SX. "She gave us the most incredible literary writing. To introduce us to poetry and styles - that was a first. It was a really challenging idea to write the way she wrote and she really opened up something very interesting and creative and took us out of our comfort zone. When women come in to the bookshop who want something challenging and literary and divine, Porter is where we go."

Track down a copy of Issue 412 to read the whole article.

The kiddies can play on the kid's equipment, while you enjoy a coffee from our neighbour, The Friendly Cafe. There are new seats too!
